I came to know Mr Chan Chun Wah when he attended a gathering of our church’s senior fellowhip, the Glowing Years Ministry, or GYM. I was not aware at first that his hearing was impaired until I had to raise my voice to make myself heard. His hearing may have been impaired, but his heart and mind were not. Mr Chan had a sharp mind and a humble, kind heart. He took part in all our activities with a quiet determination, and amazed all of us when, even at his advanced age and with his hearing problem, he cycled to church and back to his home in Novena every Sunday. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. We are sad that he is no longer with us, but we rejoice that he is now at rest and safely in the arms of our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.
Condolences to the family.
